History study material for SSC-CGL and other related exams-PDF download

Many serious candidates find it difficult to prepare History for SSC-CGL and other related exams in which a significant part of GK section is History. Today, I am providing a gist PDF of History prepared by Mr. Ghanshyam Thori (an IAS topper). This gist contains only 42 pages, yet covers most of the History part asked in SSC-CGL and other related exams.

The trick to memorize such gist is not to focus on memorizing but on reading it. Just give it a try for the first time like you read a newspaper. After 2 or 3 subsequent readings, you will eventually start retaining facts & along with practice sets available in market, this material will make you a master in History MCQs.

This gist is also revision friendly. If you don't have any revision notes for History, this one could be helpful. Hope this helps you attempt all the History questions in SSC-CGL.

ACIO Grade II Intelligence Officer written exam paper 2013 PDF Download

Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) conducts exam for the post of Assistant Central Intelligence Officer ACIO Grade-II every year. This year, it is being conducted on 22 February.

The written examination for the post of ACIO-II/Exe contains two papers namely:

Paper I (Objective type) and Paper-II (Descriptive type on English language only). 

The total duration for both Papers is 1 hour and 40 minutes. Paper I will focus on General Awareness/General Knowledge, Reasoning, Comprehension, Mathematical ability etc. while Paper II will be designed to check English writing skill and analytical capability.

Download Old NCERT-History-Medieval India-Class VII- Romila Thapar


History is one of the main headaches of Civil services aspirants. To start with History, NCERTs are considered to be the best source. However, the new NCERTs are more oriented towards providing pictorial details & stuff while old NCERTs were more text oriented. 

I am providing Old NCERT-History-Medival India-Class VII- Romila Thapar. It seems to be having more details about things that could be asked in exams than just being an illustrious book. 

One more thing- Mere collecting books & fancy documents doesn't mean that you have gained knowledge necessary to crack an examination. Make a habit of making notes, specially in History because it is one of those subjects that will give you confidence of knowing everything but when it comes to writing answers, you come to know what this subject really is.

Prepare notes, whether be it ancient, medieval or modern History so it could be used when the time for the final battle comes.

    Sample Mains paper with explainations

    Success does not come overnight & one has to work for it, work hard for life changing success. But, smart work is also a contributing factor to success.

    To successfully crack the toughest exam of India, UPSC-CSE, only hard work is not going to pay. For the main's examination, you should not only be knowing the correct or reasonable answer, but also be able to express it on the answer sheets that are going to decide the fate of all the appearing aspirants, 12-13 times the number of actual vacancies for some top-notch Government posts.

    With the preparation of prelims, an approach towards mains is also necessary about how I should be preparing for mains, how the answers should be written.

    For those who are preparing for CSE-2014, I am providing a Sample Mains paper with answers written.


    Time is a luxury, you can not afford to loose. So, along with preparation of GS, a side preparation for answer writing should also be done.
