Before declearation of score card there are no prediction can right.but in general cut-off is not much low as bank PO-3 i.e. 61(Because there are almost 65000 students qualified for interview) and in IT officer last year only 4300 aprox. student called for interview. so my speculation for this year is
overall cutoff- 95-105
section wise cut off-
R- 11-14
A- 10-13
E- 9-11 ( after standarization in total 50 marks)
P- 26-30 ( after standarization in total 50 marks)

And hardly few students who could attempt 30-30 question in apti & reasoning with accuracy..
accuracy is more important than quantity..those students who attemptd 115 question with accuracy surely they in.my analysis in IT paper is that mostly students attempt 100-120 questions..
I know my attemptd not sufficient for selection,but before scorecard all analysis can be ruin.because this is "IBPS-III"

Some Interview questions asked to Engineers in IBPS clerical Interview

Interviews for IBPS Clerk III have been scheduled to start from 10 February, 2014. Many Engineers have qualified for the interview & the most common question that they fear from is "Why do you want to join banking sector as a clerk after Engineering?"

So, I've written this article to help those candidates with some common interview questions asked to Engineers in IBPS interviews.

Why do you want to join banking sector after Engineering?

Aren’t you overqualified for this job?

MOST COMMON QUESTION & chances are that you will be facing it 99%. Banks generally want to know that why such an overqualified person wants to join banking sector, that too as a clerk.

So, here are my suggestions to answer this question. Respond to this question in your own words following these points in mind while answering an IBPS interview:

• Confidence: Look confident & give a realistic answer. So, the interviewers won't assume that you are doing this just for the sake of getting job.
• Confine your answer: Don't use so called 'pet' answers with 'feku' & long answers. Keep your answer short & simple.
• Technology & you: Tell them that Banking sector has become totally computerized these days. Core banking, ATMs, internet & mobile banking is used in almost every bank.
• Tell them that being an Engineer, how you would be able to understand these things with ease & help the bank grow. How you will be an asset for the bank.
• Growth factor: Also, banking is a growing sector. There are a lot of opportunities in this banking sector 7 it seems to be a parallel of IT sector.
• Job stability: Tell them about the stability of job in Public sector banks as compared to IT Sector. Also Fair chances of promotion 7 growth are given. Don't try to criticize the IT sector or your current employer.

*Some common mistakes people make*

Here are some common mistakes people make while answering above question & what they should avoid:

• Interviewer asked the question in Hindi, but you started giving answer in English or vice versa. Chances are that they will ask you about the language you are comfortable in but if they don't, either answer in the language they asked the question or ask for their permission to answer in your language.
• Language: It is better to ask for permission to answer in Hindi or local language if you are not comfortable in English than using wrong grammar & vocabulary. They will allow you happily.
• Don't say anything about the 'no work pressure' at all. They might think that you are a kind of guy who could not handle work pressure & loves 'kam mehnat waale kaam'. (For your info- clerical work has some work pressure too like closing of month, financial year etc)
• Never reveal that you are desperate for the job or you want to leave your current job in private sector due to work pressure. In reality, you may be, but there's no good in telling this to them indirectly.
• Never say you didn't get the job. This may lead to cross questioning about your lifestyle during Engineering(ooooops) that in turn may affect your score.
• Interviewers like people who do their homework about the job. Don't cite any wrong information about the job profile of clerk or the perks & facilities offered in bank.
• People loose their smile when interviewers start teasing them about their degree. Don't do that. Keep a happy face. Its their job to do so. Also, a happy face leaves positive impression on the interviewers.

How will you manage with low salary of a clerk?

• Tell them that salary of a clerk is not even that low. You would be surviving easily with a clerk's salary along with some savings.
• You could tell them that the minimum in hand salary of a clerk is around 17,000 minimum. [(It is equivalent to the common starting salary of a fresher in in IT sector.)- Say this only if interviewer seems to be comparing with salary in IT sector.]

Have you applied for the Specialist Officer in IBPS?

• Yeah, that is where these guys try to hold you from the neck. The truth may be that you have applied for the Specialist Officer exam & you can not lie about it.
• Just tell them Yes. They know if you have applied for a clerk job after such a good degree, then you must have applied for a specialist officer too.
• Don't worry. They are not going to fail you or give you low marks. They too know about the competition offered in IBPS SO exam & the number of vacancies. They just want to know about you.
• In case you haven't applied for SO, just tell them you haven't but be ready to face the why?

Will you be still joining as a clerk if you get selected in SO exam?

Of course not & this is what you are going to tell them. This is the reality & no one will leave a specialist officer job over a clerk job. They are just testing you. Keep it short & to the point.

Did you apply for IBPS PO? If not, why? Its a better job for you than a bank clerk.

• Again, you will have to tell the truth about it. Tell them in yes or no. If yes, they may ask about your experience & if by that time the final results of IBPS PO III are out, they will surely be asking about your result. Prepare you answer for this question in advance keeping the PO result in mind.
• If not, make up an answer stating the reason like you didn't know when notification of PO exam was published or anything else. Prepare an answer in advance.

Conclusion

• IBPS interview panel guys always try to make candidates feel comfortable. So, don't feel nervous about the interview. They are nice people most of the times.
• Just be confident & answer them without fumbling. Practice some mock interviews with your friends & family members.
• Write down the points that you will be answering when a particular question is asked but don't be so monotonous or repetitive like you have memorized it.
• Don't panic if cross questioning occurs. Keep calm & answer them.
• Once they are past your 'Engineering' thing, they will be asking simple questions related to banking & your background.
• In the end, they just want to know whether you will prove to be a workhorse for them or not.Whether you will be joining the bank or not. You just have to show them that you are the right candidate.=>They give you average or good marks=>combined with your written score=> You are qualified & get the job.

Tips for IBPS IT Specialist Officer exam- How to clear the exam?

From last few weeks, I've been active on many Facebook forums for IBPS IT Specialist Officer. However, I see many candidates posting queries like how to clear the IBPS IT Specialist Officer exam, how many questions to attempt in each section, what was cut-off last year etc. So, I've written this article with purpose of answering all those questions in one place asked by those aspirants.

How many questions will be asked? ‘blah blah’ section will consist of how many marks?

Seriously, if you are asking this question when only 10 days are left for the exam, you really need to think again about what you have been doing since filling the application. DON'T ask such type of questions. If you are smart, you will eventually find every relevant detail regarding the marking scheme in the IBPS SO notification.

It is already written on page number 7 of notification. English section will contain 50 questions for 25 marks.
Professional Knowledge section will contain 50 question for 75 marks.

What was the cut-off last year? How many vacancies may be there?

I've written a separate article on Last year's IBPS SO cut-off in detail.

How many questions should I attempt to clear the exam?

My answer is as many as you can. However, you shouldn't tick those answers which you are not sure about. You should not force yourself into ticking wrong answers because this may lead to many negative answers which in turn will reduce your score. Just focus & try to give as many correct answers as you can.

What is the Syllabus for Professional knowledge section of IT Officer?

This is something that everyone searches about because it is not written in the notification. Basically, for every Specialist Officer post, syllabus of Professional Knowledge is the syllabus of their respective graduation or post graduation subject.

However, for IBPS IT Specialist Officer, I've written the minimum predictable syllabus based on previous IBPS IT SO CWE-I & II papers. It can be read in this post.

Should I prepare upto GATE level?

Of course not. The questions asked in IT Officer exam are very basic in nature. You should just prepare the basic concepts of everything.

For example, they are not going to ask you to solve a question Quine McCluskey procedure because every one knows it takes a lot of time to solve these questions. But the may ask why is this procedure use? What does this procedure involve? etc.

From where can I find more study material? More practice MCQs?

There is plenty of study material is available in files section several Facebook forums. I find IBPS SO ( Specialist officer 2014-2015) forum quite good for finding study material. Also I've uploaded study material & Practice MCQs.

What will be the cut-off this year?

No one can predict what is going to be the cutoff this year. It all depends on the questions asked by IBPS & the candidates who attempt those questions. Don't take any type of tension in speculation of cut-off. Also, stay away from such Social elements (friends, co-workers, enemies, anybody) until the exam who give such predictions because the only thing this may do is disturb your focus towards preparation.

Concluding with following points:

• Prepare for the exam with full dedication.
• Don't underestimate any section while preparing. The paper is designed to assess in every section otherwise it may affect your score.

• Don't go for more & more study material. First complete what you have with you & give plenty of time to revision in your schedule.

Last year's IBPS Specialist IT Officer Cut-Off score

Today I am posting about the real scenario of Last year's IBPS Specialist Officer exam. It includes

• The number of applicants & selected for interview
• Cut-off score to get the interview
• Actual number of vacancies
• Actual & final standardized cut-off scores of those who got job

This will help you to get a real idea about the level of competition this exam IBPS Specialist Officer CWE-III is offering.

The number of Applicants & selected for interview

In the table below, there are statistics of the 'appeared' candidates & 'qualified for interview' candidates for all the IBPS Specialist Officer posts last year i.e. IBPS SO CWE-II.

As you can see from the above tables, you can clearly see that 1.5 lakh candidates appeared for the IT Officer scale-I, out of which only 4 thousand qualified for the interview. this means the competition is very tough & you have to give your best to qualify for the interview.

Same condition is with all other posts too. For IT Officer scale-II, out of 17 thousand , only 157 made it to the interview.

Cut-Off Score to get the interview

Now coming to the cut-off score of last year's IBPS Specialist officer (IBPS SO CWE-II), which again made it very competitive.

As you can see from the above table, cut-off to get the interview in IT Officer-I was 128 marks for General  & 120 for other categories which is very high as compared to IBPS PO & Clerical exams.

Actual number of vacancies

Now coming to the point of vacancies as compared to the number of candidates qualified for the interview, this ratio was quite low. Here is the actual number of vacancies from last year's IBPS CWE-II:

As you can see, 4000 candidates were selected for the interview but only 351 vacancies were there for IT Officer scale-I. This gives a ratio of 1:11 that means out of every 11 candidates, only one candidate was offered the job.

Actual & Final Standardized score of those who got job

After the final results of IBPS SO CWE-II were declared, these were the minimum & maximum final scores of the candidates who were offered the job. Have a look.

NOTE: THESE SCORES ARE OUT OF 100. Final score is calculated after taking marks in written exam out of 80 & marks in interview out of 20.

As you can clearly observe, the minimum & maximum marks for IT officer scale-I are around 70 & 78. That means the candidate who scored 70 out of 100 in the final must have scored more than 140 marks in the test to get into this list.

HOW?

Suppose someone scores 140 marks(Normalized score) out of 200 in Online test. So he will get 56 marks out of 80.
Now in the interview of 100 marks, he gets 80 marks. So, he will get 16 marks out of 20.
Note: people usually score 70-80 marks on just an Average interview (an experienced IT SO)

Finally, Out of 100, he will get 56+16= 72 marks. The minimum cutoff was 70. I hope this clears the marking scheme of IBPS for final selection.

Conclusion

• Competition is very tough but it is not impossible to crack this exam.
• Score enough, not only enough to get the interview but to get the job.
